Room Planner
We have designed our room planner so that you can design your own unique area. After designating the dimensions of your room, you can add in our furniture that has already been scaled to the proper ratio. Any room can be designed, including living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, even showrooms and floor-spaces for assistance in space management! Completed plans can then be emailed to friends, family, and colleagues, as well as forwarded to dealers closest to the home location. As new collections are added to the AICO® line-up, they will continually be added to the room planner database, so stop by often to see what's new and exciting.

To begin
To begin, click on "Plan Your Room", and the following screen will appear.

You have the option of either working with a pre-built plan, or you can click the "Design your own" tab, which will give you a blank room. Enter the depth in feet and inches boxes respectively, and do likewise for the length. The graphics area dynamically updates to display the space. Next, choose the desired plan type from the drop down menu, and click the "continue" button. This will bring up a blank room with your dimensions.

If you are not currently logged in, you have the option of doing so using the link at the bottom of the tab. You can also create an account by selecting Login. You can return to this dialog box at any time by choosing the "New Plan" option from the File drop down menu.

Click "continue" to see your blank room.

Note: The largest plan you can create from the Create a New Plan dialog box is 200' x 200' (imperial units) or 61m x 61m (metric units.) However, you can drag a plan or walls to as big as 800' x 800' (imperial units) or 190m x 304m from within the work area.

Once registered, you can log in at any time by clicking the "Login" button at the top right hand corner of the screen. Once logged in, you have the ability to save layouts, print layouts, and email layouts to friends, family, dealers, etc.

At the login prompt, enter your username and password as entered when you registered. If you have forgotten your password, enter your user name in the username field. Then click on the "Forgot your password" link and your password will be emailed to you.

Designing your Room
Once you have your blank room in front of you, you are ready to create a new plan. If you have not previously done so, you can add in dimensions of your room by selecting the New Plan command from the File menu.

Note: To change the current drawing units (metric/imperial) cancel the Create a New Plan dialog box, and select the desired units from the View menu.

To add in furniture, accessories, or any structural images, choose the image needed from the sidebar tool located on the left hand side of the page. The first drop down menu allows you to choose which collection you are interested in. The second drop down menu then narrows the collection into rooms.

When placing the mouse over an icon, a dialog box will open, giving you the choice of viewing details about the product, placing it in your room, or adding it to "Your Cart", which will appear to your Wish List as well.

Once the required icon is found, simply drag it to the correct area of your room, and drop in. If you need to change the direction of the item, click on it, which will highlight the item. Then, simply click and hold the yellow square and rotate to the proper location. If the wrong item was chosen, you can delete it by clicking the red circle. By clicking the blue circle, you can lock the item so that no changes can be made to it until it has been unlocked.

Color can be added to each item by choosing the color tab located on the left hand side of the screen. Once the color palate is visible, simply choose the desired color, and the item will change to that color.

If general images are needed, simply choose the "Generic" tab. This tab has options including plants, exercise equipment, doors, windows, etc. As well, if the exact icon you are looking for is not available, there are some generic shapes that can be used to construct an approximation of the icon you need.

Saving your Room
If you would like to save your progress, open the File menu, and choose Save Plan. You will be asked the plan name and plan type. Enter in something to remember your plan, and click OK.

To retrieve your saved plans, open the File menu, and choose My Saved Plans.

Printing your Room
To print your plans, open the File menu and choose Print. The resulting screen gives you the option of a grid, numeric labels, and an itemized list. Dropping down the first menu will let you see the itemized list that shows each item in your room, and gives the description of each item.
